About VIP Boarding & Daycare
Nearly four decades of caring for Humboldt County's dogs and cats — one happy tail at a time.
Established in 1987
Our facility was established in 1987 and has been through many renovations, remodels, and additions to achieve the safest possible environment for your pet. Nearly four decades on, that dedication to safety, cleanliness, and genuine care still guides everything we do.
We're proud to be a part of the Arcata community, and we treat every dog and cat that walks through our doors like a member of our own family. Whether your pet is here for a single day of play or an extended vacation, our goal is the same: a comfortable, happy stay you can feel good about.
Care built on trust
Safety & cleanliness
Secure, fully covered runs and a facility we've continually improved. Bedding is inspected daily and washed, sanitized, and dried after each use.
Individual attention
We accommodate all breeds and personalities. Social butterflies join group play; quieter pets get their own yard time — at least twice a day.
Peace of mind
You're always welcome to call and check on your pet. In case of illness or injury, we contact you and your veterinarian right away.
Every pet is an individual
No two animals are alike, so no two stays should be either. Dogs are grouped into play yards by size and temperament, and newcomers are introduced gently — meeting one or two seasoned daycare veterans in our large entry yard before joining a group.
Dogs who prefer their own company are rotated into play yards individually so they still get plenty of exercise and enrichment. Cats enjoy a calm, separate space with tall condos of their own.
Meet our farm friends
We're more than a kennel — we're a working slice of Humboldt County countryside. Alongside the dogs and cats, you might spot a few four-legged residents of the farm-and-ranch variety while you're here.
It's all part of the relaxed, homey atmosphere we've built over the decades: room to roam, fresh coastal air, and plenty of friendly faces (some with floppy ears and tiny hooves).
